I took a college level journalism class in H.S. with a fabulous journalist named Joan Morgan. I ran into her years later and she gave me my first internship at a mag which ultimately led to a gig. I'm an advocate for surrounding yourself with people who are doing what you want to do, ask a million questions and be proactive so that you have something to show when opportunity knocks. Boston is just as good a city as any.
